A well-deserved reputation for food, atmosphere and service, you’re bound to be impressed at this high quality restaurant situated on the lower deck of 23 Upper Pembroke St. Dax is smartly furnished with a stylish minimalist effect, stone floors, a dark woodlined-ceiling and ambient lighting setting a relaxing and unhurried tone in which to enjoy genuine Provençal cooking. They do a superb two course lunch which offers extremely good value for only €19, certainly one of the best deals in the city.
The snazzy wine bar and waiting area has its own particular atmosphere and is a great place to unwind before sitting down to enjoy the extensive menu and well-chosen wine list with over 140 European wines.
The menu, which is based on fresh, seasonal produce, includes rustic choices along the lines of pan fried foie gras. You can go wrong with Dax’s speciality of duck heart and mushroom, unbelievably good. The roasted seabass is also an excellent choice. Meals are noted ...
