VermilionA tropical Terenure beauty, Vermilion hides on the first floor above the Terenure Inn and is a great little local restaurant with a chic minimalist look, lively atmosphere and the sort of clientele who appreciate Indian fusion cuisine. Bright paprika and saffron coloured walls give it a convivial atmosphere with comfortable soft furnishings and reasonably well-spaced tables which are the hallmarks of this restaurant. The menu offers plenty of choice without being overlong, offering healthy options, spicy and toned-down versions to cater for every taste. A consistent quality of ingredients and cooking standards ensure that dishes are always successful. The formula is an admirable one. You might begin with the Tandoori Duck Rolls - a generous starter coated with peppers, onions, chilies and mint leaves. For my main course, I enjoyed the Murgh Nimbu Pudina which was comprised of a whole breast of chicken marinated in lemon and mint skewered cooked in a tandoor that allowed the flavours to come right through. A great buzz here at weekends and the service is polite and helpful. A great selection of naans and delicious kulfi. Return to Vermilion Main Page |
